Econoquest History

Econoquest (Pty) Ltd was established in 2001 by the directors of Econometrix at that time to undertake activities which were not directly in the ambit of Econometrix itself.

Support was given to some new business ventures which could benefit from the umbrella and the experience of the Econometrix directors.

With the passing of three Econometrix directors over the period 2002 to 2012, a majority shareholding in Econoquest was acquired by Econometrix director Dr Michael K C Jackson.

The current shareholders of the company are Dr Michael K C Jackson and Dr Mohammed I Jahed, who is professor of Public Administration at the University of Johannesburg.

In 2018/2019, it was felt that Econoquest could provide a suitable vehicle for combining independent economic researchers and consultants and economists in academia to undertake quantitative research projects for both public and private sector as well as non-government organisations.

The concept is that Econoquest can provide a streamlined channel to combine and co-ordinate research projects to provide a beneficial service both to end clients and to the researchers/ consultants participating through it.
